Muscle testing a simple way to have a conversation with your subconscious mind. By saying a statement and testing whether your muscles hold strong or go weak, you can find out if that statement is true for your subconscious.
There are many ways to perform muscle testing. For this example, we are going to use the “finger ring” technique. It takes a little practice to get comfortable with it, so don’t worry if it seems difficult at first.
First, make an “ok” symbol with your fingers. Gently hold your fingertips together as if you were holding a piece of paper between them (in other words, don’t press too firmly). You are going to use the index finger of the opposite hand to try and break the ring.
Now say a statement out loud that you know is true. For example, if you are a woman, say “I am a woman”. Take the index finger of the opposite hand and try to break the ring. For true statements, your finger ring should hold strong.
Practice that a few times until it becomes comfortable. You can try saying your first name, where you live, what you’re wearing, anything that will be an obvious truth.
Now try saying a statement that you know is false. If you are a woman, say “I am a man”. Now, when you try to break the ring, it should go weak and your index finger should easily pass through.
You can practice that more by saying any false statement you would like. Try things like, “I am a cat”, “the sky is green”, “my name is Bob” (assuming your name is NOT Bob!)
Go back and forth between true and false statements until you are able to easily feel a difference between the two. If you are unable to discern between the two, we can show different methods you can try.
Why is this important?
In our sessions, we will use muscle testing to find out what beliefs your subconscious mind is holding onto. In many cases, it is an old pattern or belief that is keeping us feeling stuck in our lives. Muscle testing can point us in the direction of what we can change to help us improve our lives.
